Waynesboro woman charged with sexual assault involving 15-year-old

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Waynesboro woman faces three felony charges and a misdemeanor after police alleged she engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old boy in Washington Township.

Amanda Sue Bostic, 36, was charged Oct. 31 with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors and indecent exposure following an investigation by the Washington Township Police Department.

According to a criminal complaint, police received an anonymous report about 1:34 a.m. Oct. 31 alleging possible sexual contact between Bostic and the boy. Officers arrived at the residence about eight minutes later.

A woman who lived at the residence gave officers permission to search the property, according to the complaint. Police said they heard voices coming from a shed behind the residence and found Bostic and the boy inside.

Bostic was unclothed, and the boy was wearing a shirt and jeans, police said. Officers directed the boy to leave the shed and told Bostic to get dressed. According to the complaint, Bostic initially refused to comply before officers took her into custody.

The boy told investigators that he and Bostic had been drinking alcohol with others at the residence earlier that evening, according to the complaint. He said they later went to a nearby park before returning to the property.

The boy alleged that Bostic initiated sexual contact after they entered the shed, according to the complaint.

Police also interviewed others at the residence who confirmed that Bostic and the boy had been there earlier that evening.

Officers placed the boy in protective custody and contacted his mother, who came to the police station. He was later reunited with her. Bostic was taken to the Washington Township Police Department for processing.

The statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse charges are first-degree felonies. Corruption of minors is a third-degree felony, and indecent exposure is a first-degree misdemeanor.

Bostic is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
