WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Mainstreet Waynesboro has announced the winners of the 2026 Market Day Scarecrow Contest, celebrating community creativity across both business and non-profit divisions. The annual event featured judged competition along with People’s Choice honors voted on by community members.
In the business category, Sharon Petrie, Realtor, earned first place with the entry “Michael Jackson.” Leland of Laurel Run secured second place with “Dolly’s Imagination Library,” while Nolan’s Construction took third place with “Nolan the Scarecrow.”
Hearthstone Retirement Home took top honors in the non-profit category with “Apple of My Eye.” WIC earned second place with “Produce Pal,” and Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue placed third with “Cornfield Commander.”
Community voters selected WACCO Properties’ “Jack” as the People’s Choice winner in the business division. The People’s Choice award for the non-profit category went to WAMS Field Hockey for “Millie Maiden.”
