SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Shepherd University announced its presence to Division II football as the Rams broke into the D2Football.com Poll.
Shepherd earned the No. 23 spot in the top 25 after opening the season at 3-0. The Rams are one of four remaining undefeated Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference teams. All four are in the top 25.
Shepherd is coming off a 28-7 win over California (Pa.) and will face No. 4-ranked Kutztown on Saturday in the Rams’ first road game of the season.
Other PSAC teams in the polls are Slippery Rock at No. 11 and Indiana University of Pennsylvania at No. 17.

Shepherd places seventh at WCU Battlefield Classic
GETTYSBURG, Pa. — South Hagerstown graduate Luke Leisinger fired an 80 to tie for 32nd place to help Shepherd University to a seventh-place finish in the 11-team WCU Battlefield Classic at The Links at Gettysburg.
Host West Chester won the team title with a 296, while the Rams posted a team score of 313.
Killian Donnelly led the Rams as he fired a 76 to tie for 11th place. He was followed by Tyler Beard (77, T-18th) and Ben Heidrick (80, T-32nd).
Andrew Taylor (85, T-46th) and Brady Reed (96, 56th) also competed for Shepherd.

McCoy, Smith gain PSAC East Athlete of the Week Honors
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Shepherd University’s outside hitter Ada McCoy and libero/defensive specialist Alexa Smith earned PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors.
McCoy was named Offensive Athlete of the Week, while Smith grabbed Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.
McCoy led the Rams to a 2-0 week as she recorded 32 kills, 10 digs, and six aces. She had 21 kills in a four-set win over Millersville on Friday and added 11 more in a 3-0 win over Shippensburg.
Smith led the Rams to a 2-0 week with 42 digs and four aces. She had 23 digs in a win over Shippensburg on Saturday and added 19 in the victory over Millersville, averaging 7.67 digs per set last week.
