WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Educators from four area school districts gathered to begin the 2026-27 school year with a keynote presentation by Gerry Brooks, an elementary school principal and nationally known education speaker.
The Waynesboro Area School District hosted the event and was joined by the Greencastle-Antrim, Tuscarora and Shippensburg Area school districts.
Brooks presented a session titled, “Personal Climate and Culture – Being the Best You Can Be No Matter What Your Position.” The presentation focused on the importance of maintaining a positive personal climate and culture and finding success in any role or situation.
Brooks is a principal at an elementary school in Lexington, Kentucky. His education experience includes six years in the classroom, two years as an intervention specialist and 12 years as an administrator.
He is known for presentations that encourage teachers to strengthen their instructional practices and help administrators lead staff in positive and constructive ways. His social media following has grown through humorous videos centered on real-world education experiences.
The keynote was intended to offer an encouraging start to the school year for educators across the four districts. Brooks used humor throughout the presentation while sharing his message about creating positive school culture.
Vendors also attended the event, and breakfast was served to teachers.
