HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Hagerstown’s tastiest new addition, Test of Time Bakery, is now offering made-from-scratch, non-GMO, organic baked goods and drinks to the downtown area. What began as a pop-up shop at local events selling freshly baked goods, has grown into a brick-and-mortar location in the heart of Hagerstown at 41 S. Potomac St.
Owner Jennifer Anderson began her professional career in accounting over 20 years ago before making a stark career pivot. In 2023, Anderson earned her baking and pastry degree before opening Test of Time Bakery as a local pop-up.
Test of Time Bakery’s grand opening ceremony took place on Aug. 3 at its downtown location. Easily over 50 guests came out to celebrate the opening, including Mayor Bill McIntire, Matt Munson from the Chamber of Commerce, Tiffany Hall representing Hagerstown Visitors Bureau, Hagerstown Councilwoman Caroline Anderson and representatives from the office of U.S. Rep. April McClain Delaney (D-6).
The Washington County Board of County Commissioners, Chamber of Commerce, mayor’s office and Delaney’s office individually presented the shop with certificates recognizing what the bakery will offer to downtown Hagerstown.
Owner Anderson tearfully addressed the crowd just outside the bakery, saying, “If you would have asked me five years ago, this would not have been on my bucket list.” She went on to thank all involved in the grand opening for their support.
