WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Chambersburg Post 46 powered through an unbeaten weekend to claim the Region 4 American Legion Baseball title, capping the run with a 9-3 victory over host Waynesboro on Sunday.
Tournament results (double elimination):
Friday — Chambersburg 10, Shippensburg 2; Waynesboro 11, Hanover 1; Chambersburg 16, Paxton 2; Shippensburg 9, Hanover 5.
Saturday — Chambersburg 8, Waynesboro 3; Shippensburg 5, Paxton 4; Waynesboro 15, Shippensburg 2.
Sunday — Chambersburg 9, Waynesboro 3.
With the championship win, Chambersburg advances to the Pennsylvania American Legion Senior State Tournament, scheduled for July 25-29 at Williamsport Area High School.
Post 46 broke open Sunday’s title game with a six-run second inning after falling behind early. Waynesboro Post 15 grabbed a 1-0 lead in the opening frame, but Chambersburg responded immediately and never trailed again.
Ayden Pfisher delivered the first run of the rally with an RBI single. Additional runs scored on an Aaron Vasquez fielder’s choice and a base hit to right field by Ben Sattazahn. Tyson Brown added a two-run single later in the inning, and Brycen Murray contributed an RBI to cap the surge.
Chambersburg’s offense stayed consistent throughout the game, led by Kohen Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with a triple and drove in three runs. Brady Truett also collected three hits and scored twice.
On the mound, Wyatt Martin went the distance, allowing eight hits and striking out four to secure the title-clinching win.
Waynesboro received RBI contributions from Rylan Nichols, Nate Nystrom and Ryan Jenkins but could not overcome Chambersburg’s early offensive burst.
Chambersburg finished the weekend undefeated, outscoring opponents 43-9 across four games.
