HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Hagerstown Rotary Club will host a special meeting and community events in July, including a tree dedication honoring a longtime member and a networking mixer with the local Chamber of Commerce.
The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at noon at the Morris Frock American Legion, 405 Northern Ave.
Members will gather July 15 for a social and committee-focused meeting without a featured speaker. At approximately 12:30 p.m., attendees will walk to Rotary Park for a brief ceremony and tree dedication honoring Ross Rhodes, a Rotarian for nearly four decades.
Rhodes, who was a member from March 1, 1986, to Oct. 22, 2025, is remembered by the organization as a dedicated member and generous philanthropist who made lasting contributions to both Rotary and the broader community.
Club leaders encourage members and guests to attend the ceremony in recognition of Rhodes’ service.
Later in the month, the Rotary Club will partner with the Chamber of Commerce for a Community Service Mixer scheduled for July 22 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion.
The event will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a 50/50 raffle. Organizers hope the mixer will provide an opportunity for Rotary members to connect with Chamber members and prospective new members.
Rotary leaders are encouraging strong attendance and inviting members to bring guests who may be interested in joining the organization.
Lunch for regular meetings is $15. For more information, readers may contact Jerry Spessard at 301-491-4002.
