WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Waynesboro marked the 30th annual Summer Jubilee on July 4 with a full day of community activities and a fireworks finale at 500 E. Main St.
The day began with a children’s 1-mile run and the Firecracker 5K before the Independence Day parade stepped off at 9:30 a.m. The parade traveled from Main Street near CV Avenue to South Broad Street, ending at Memorial Park, and was sponsored by Brio Coffeehouse Inc.
Residents and visitors also enjoyed vendors, live entertainment, a Kid’s Zone and a sensory-friendly tent. The celebration concluded with a privately funded fireworks display. The Boro Bash and hot dog eating contest were postponed to Aug. 22 due to extreme heat.
