The competitive landscape will look just a little bit different for Fairfield when it takes the field this fall.
That’s because the league the Knights play in — the organization formerly known as the York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association — has added two new teams to its ranks from the Mid-Penn Conference: Big Spring and James Buchanan. The YAIAA also announced this week that it will now be called the South Central Athletic Conference.
The league’s new additions will compete in Division III, the same division as Fairfield. Over the next two years, the Knights should expect road trips to Newville and Mercersburg in cross country, field hockey, golf, boys soccer, and girls volleyball, just to name the fall sports.
Fairfield’s girls soccer team won’t be facing the Bulldogs or Rockets, but they will be moving up to Division II this fall.
