HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Washington County Transit will offer free rides on all County Commuter fixed-route and ADA paratransit services June 18-19 as part of National Dump the Pump Day.
National Dump the Pump Day is an annual nationwide initiative that encourages residents to leave their cars at home and experience the benefits of public transportation. By choosing transit, riders can save money on fuel, reduce traffic congestion and help improve air quality throughout the community.
During the two-day promotion, passengers may board any County Commuter Fixed-Route bus without paying a fare.
“National Dump the Pump Day is a great opportunity for current riders to save money and for new riders to discover public transportation,” the transit department said in a release.
