SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Shippensburg will kick off its America 250 celebration with a community parade on Flag Day, bringing residents together to honor the nation’s upcoming semiquincentennial.
The Shippensburg America 250 Parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, along King Street in downtown Shippensburg. Organized by the Shippensburg America 250 Committee, the parade marks the first in a series of events planned to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
Community members can expect a traditional parade lineup featuring floats, marching bands and local organizations, all highlighting the town’s history, culture and civic pride. The event is designed to be family-friendly and accessible to residents of all ages.
Organizers say the parade aims to bring the community together while recognizing both national heritage and Shippensburg’s local legacy.
The choice of Flag Day adds symbolic significance, aligning the celebration with a day dedicated to honoring the American flag and its history.
