Laughter will take center stage as All-In Events & Rentals hosts a Comedy Night designed to bring the Chambersburg community together for an evening of entertainment, food and drinks. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. May 15 at All-In Events & Rentals, 2764 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, and will feature live comedy performances, a BYOB atmosphere and food available for purchase. Organizers said the event aims to give residents a chance to relax, socialize and enjoy a fun night out with friends. Seating is limited, and advance tickets are encouraged.
From dinosaur-era sandstone to a cavern deep beneath Franklin County, geology enthusiasts can dig into the region’s ancient past during “Your Backyard Geology,” an annual field trip hosted by Buttonwood Nature Center on May 16 in Adams and Franklin counties. Led by geologist Jeri Jones, the bus excursion will take participants ages 8 and older to sites in Biglerville, Bendersville, South Mountain, Shippensburg and Williamson to explore volcanic rock formations, limestone deposits and the Black-Coffey Cavern. The trip runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with transportation, a tour book and cavern admission included in the registration fee. Organizers say the program is designed to help residents better understand the geologic history beneath their own backyards.
Pickle lovers can relish everything from pickle pizza and pierogies to pickle margaritas and even pickle-themed jewelry at the Quad State Pickle Fest, a two-day celebration packed with food, music and quirky fun May 16-17 at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The festival will feature live performances by Mack Berry Band, Rule G and Hair Force One on Saturday, followed by Milk Mountain, Kelly Bell Band and The Amish Outlaws on Sunday, along with pickle contests and family-friendly activities. Admission ranges from $17 to $24, while children 12 and younger get in free. Organizers say the event is designed to bring together pickle enthusiasts from across the region for a weekend of entertainment, food and community fun.

Baltimore St. into a vibrant hub of handmade goodness for the annual Greencastle Spring Market Day. Hosted by the shop, consign & collect co. and the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, the Saturday, May 16, event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering community members a chance to support local crafters and enjoy fresh fare from diverse food trucks. Cheesesteak lovers will settle the score in downtown Hagerstown as local restaurants and food trucks face off in the “Battle of the Cheesesteaks” from 3 to 8 p.m. May 16 in partnership with Downtown Hagerstown and One Room Media, also known as “The Cheesesteak Guy.” The event, held throughout downtown Hagerstown, will feature fresh cheesesteaks, a beer garden with Antietam Brewery and family-friendly entertainment as organizers seek to crown the city’s top cheesesteak while drawing visitors to the downtown district. Admission ranges from $15 to $45.
