Mr. William Allen Tosten, Sr., 74, of Boonsboro, fondly known as “Bill,” passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. He was the devoted husband of Lora Colleen Shetron Tosten, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Born on January 9, 1952, in Pinesburg, he was the son of the late Guy Albertus Tosten, Sr., and Eliza May Henson Tosten.

Bill spent more than 25 years working for Dewey Jordan, Inc. in Frederick, where he built a reputation for hard work and skill.

He and his wife were founding members of New Covenant Fellowship Church in Boonsboro. Over the years, he served faithfully as a deacon, contributed to the grounds committee, and supported the church’s leadership team. He was always ready to lend his construction skills, often creating spaces and projects for children and families to enjoy.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children: William A. Tosten, Jr., of Boonsboro; Tora L. Tosten Idos and her husband, Vincent, of San Diego, California; and Douglas R. Tosten and his partner, Christi D. Singleton, of Hagerstown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, William A. Tosten III, Elizabeth M. Idos, and Amanda M. Tosten; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Guy Tosten, Jr., Nancy Socks, Robert Tosten, Philip Tosten, Phyllis Leadbeater, and Beverly Black; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lester A. Tosten and Wilbur R. Tosten.

Arrangements are being handled by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home in Hagerstown. The family will receive friends at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 18310 Breathedsville Road, Boonsboro, on Friday, May 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, May 2, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Kevin A. Tressler officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
