BOONSBORO, Md. – The Town of Boonsboro invites residents to take part in its Annual Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration and Park Clean-Up from 1 to 4 p.m. on April 26 at Shafer Park, where volunteers of all ages are welcome.
Activities will begin with an Arbor Day proclamation delivered by Mayor Howard Long at the park gazebo, followed by the dedication of an Arbor Day tree. Throughout the afternoon, participants can assist with a stream and park clean-up by collecting trash and debris, as well as help conduct a tree inventory of existing trees in the park.
Organizers encourage volunteers to wear boots and gloves for the clean-up efforts.
The event aims to celebrate the community’s natural resources while promoting environmental stewardship and community involvement. Residents are also invited to simply enjoy an afternoon outdoors in Shafer Park while supporting local conservation efforts.
