GREENCASTLE, Pa. – The Greencastle-Antrim School District will host its annual STEM Expo on May 6, highlighting student innovation through a hands-on design competition.
The event will run from 3 to 7 p.m. and will feature this year’s K–12 contest, “Engineering Everyday Heroes,” presented by JLG Industries and Jerr-Dan. The challenge invites students to design a hero character inspired by real-world vehicles and equipment from Oshkosh Corporation.
Students can submit entries in a variety of formats, including illustrations, comic panels, 3D models, physical builds or digital designs. Each project must demonstrate what the hero does, who it helps and the real-world problem it is designed to solve, while reflecting the purpose of the selected Oshkosh vehicle.
Submissions will be accepted in the High School Solarium B from 3 to 5 p.m., with winners announced at 6 p.m. Organizers said entries will be judged by building level with age-appropriate expectations, with one winner selected from each group. Judges will also choose a single grand prize winner.
