With the historic fountain as its centerpiece, Downtown Chambersburg will come alive with food, music and family fun during Fountain Fest 2026, a three-day celebration highlighting the borough’s small-business community and vibrant downtown. Hosted around the Chambersburg Square Fountain, the event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. April 24 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25-26, featuring live entertainment, food trucks, carnival rides and games, retail vendors and a beer garden. Organized to support the local economy and bring residents together, the festival invites families, friends and visitors to experience one of Chambersburg’s signature spring traditions.

The Grove Family Library in Chambersburg is celebrating National Library Week from April 20–25 with snacks, a book quote contest offering a chance to win a $10 Butcher Bucks coupon, and other activities, while the Washington County Free Library system in Maryland is marking the April 19–25 observance with its “Find Your Joy” theme and a slate of daily programs. Blooming creativity will take center stage as the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts hosts its annual “Art in Bloom” fundraiser April 24–26 at 401 Museum Drive in Hagerstown, inviting the public to experience floral arrangements inspired by works in the museum’s collection. The three-day event begins with a ticketed preview party from 6 to 8 p.m. April 24, where attendees can meet designers and enjoy floral-themed refreshments, followed by free admission viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25 and 26, along with a floral demonstration at 1 p.m. April 25 in the museum’s atrium. Organized by the museum, the event showcases regional designers’ interpretations of art while raising funds to support the institution’s programs and exhibitions.
Threads of meaning and memory take center stage at Just Lookin’ Gallery as artist Luther Wright invites the public to explore “Conversations in Cloth,” a free exhibition opening at 40 Summit Ave. in downtown Hagerstown. The show, which highlights the role of fabric as both medium and message in visual art, will feature an opening reception with opportunities to meet Wright from 1 to 7 p.m. April 25 and 26. The exhibit aims to showcase how textiles can convey personal stories, cultural identity and artistic expression through layered textures and design.
Downtown Waynesboro will turn into a tasting tour as Main Street Waynesboro hosts its eighth annual Downtown Food Stroll, inviting visitors to sample their way through the borough’s local eateries. The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, throughout downtown Waynesboro, featuring participating businesses such as Taqueria La Cienega, Rough Edges Brewing, The Waynesburger, Zoe’s Chocolate Co. and more. Organized to showcase the area’s food scene and support small businesses, the stroll offers sample-sized dishes, live music by Lucky Punk and a special appearance by Chef Arik Mills of Mills on Main, giving attendees a chance to explore local flavors and discover new favorites.
