Families and music lovers will gather for an energetic morning at the Musical Miles Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, May 2, at Norlo Park in Fayetteville. The event celebrates fitness and local music while raising support for community arts programs.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with the Tike Triathlon for ages 3 to 7. Young participants will bike or trike a one-tenth mile, tackle an obstacle course, run one-tenth mile and earn medals for their efforts. Registration for the Tike Triathlon costs $10 and requires an adult to be present.
At 10:30 a.m., runners and walkers will take off for the Fun Run/Walk, choosing either one or two loops—each about 1.25 miles—through Norlo Park’s scenic paths. The $25 registration includes drinks, desserts, and an event T-shirt. Children age 7 and under may join for free, with optional T-shirt add-ons available.
Following the races at 11 a.m., food trucks and live music will fill the park. Local musicians Tresa Day and Laurie Matlock, performing as Soliel, will headline while visitors enjoy offerings from Caretti’s Pizza and Wednesday Coffee Co.
Children’s attractions include an instrument “petting zoo,” face painting, coloring pages, a drum circle, and musical crafts led by Brittany of Mirabella Took Creations. Organizers say the event offers fun for all ages and encourages families to connect through music and movement.
