Three Chambersburg boys — Alex Kaczmark, Amir Tasker, and Cullen McGraw — saved their best swimming for the final meet of the season: Last week’s PIAA Class 3A Championships.
Their progress has been noted on our leaderboards.
Kaczmark improved upon his area-leading time in the 100 freestyle (45.70), while Tasker did the same in the 200 freestyle (1:38.69). As for McGraw, he expanded his lead over locals in the 500 freestyle (4:32.65) and took over the top spot in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.66.
Mady Barker, of Waynesboro, was already on top of our local leaderboards in the 500 freestyle, but she improved upon that time at states when she clocked a 5:10.75.
Our boys and girls basketball stat leaderboards are now complete, following the elimination of our two remaining teams from the state playoffs.
Chambersburg’s boys, whose season ended in the second round of the PIAA Class 6A tourney, finish their season with the area’s best scoring defense, which allowed 49.1 points per game. Colton Cornwell finishes fourth among scoring leaders with 15.3 ppg, while Grayson Kegerreis finished fourth with 12.4 ppg and closed out his season as the top local 3-point sniper with 61 triples.
The Smithsburg girls were knocked out in the MPSSAA Class 1A semifinals, and conclude their campaign as the area leader in team offense (67.1 ppg) and defense (35.9 ppg). Five of our area’s Top 10 scorers played for the Leopards: Skyla Mastronardi (1st, 17.5 ppg), Claire Bono (2nd, 17.3 ppg), Jayda Tyler (8th, 8.9 ppg), Kara Hoover (9th, 8.8 ppg), and Jenna Todd (10th, 8.1 ppg).
Our high school stat leaderboards will look a little different next week, as spring sports are scheduled to begin.
