Aubrey Nicole is making a statement on NBC’s hit reality show, “The Voice.” That statement is that even a small-town girl from Pennsylvania can shake the world to its core with her amazing singing ability.
Nicole was born and raised in Littlestown, a small borough in Adams County just outside of Gettysburg. The town, which has about 4,700 community members, has now been thrust into the national spotlight as Nicole has made her way to the final six participants in the popular show and has reached the finals which will air on NBC on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 9 p.m.
The season started on Sept. 22 with 48 participants reaching for the grand prize of a music contract and $100,000. As Nicole made her way through each round, she highlighted the semi-finals with a stirring rendition of Alannah Myles 1989 hit, “Black Velvet.” The performance blew away her team leader, country music legend, Reba McIntyre.
The music icon had this to share about her choice for the finals, “I chose Aubrey because she has a way of portraying a lot of emotion. That’s what music is supposed to be about. I definitely think Aubrey has a shot to win the whole competition.”
On Dec. 15, as part of a two-episode finale, Aubrey took the stage again and performed “Til You Can’t” by Cody Johnson in round one and then gave an amazing performance of Reba McIntyre’s classic hit, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” in round two.
The final choice will be decided soon, but regardless of the outcome, Aubrey Nicole has made not just her hometown proud, but all of the state of Pennsylvania, where fans will no doubt be rooting for her.
