One of the greatest athletes to ever play for North Hagerstown’s girls volleyball team, Caydence Doolan, played the last match of her high school career last weekend.
Doolan, a Marquette recruit, made her last season on the court a memorable one. She once again dominated her competition this fall, and that’s reflected in her final stats, which rank among the best in the Local.News1 coverage area.
Doolan led locals in kills (478) and finished third on our leaderboards in aces (55), eighth in blocks (19), and ninth in digs (223).
Football season also came to an end for area teams last weekend, with both North Hagerstown and South Hagerstown falling in the second round of regionals. The Hubs, who averaged 22.6 points per game, finish with the area’s top offense, while the Rebels made a strong late-season push to finish as our top local defense, allowing 20.5 points per game.
We haven’t received individual stats from South Hagerstown’s playoff run, but event without those two postseason games, Rebels’ star RB Josiah “JoJo” Davis still finishes as our top area rusher after totaling at least 1,097 yards this fall. Davis takes the Local.News1 rushing title over Greencastle-Antrim’s Blake Reuter (1,083 yards) and North Hagerstown’s Ty Fauntleroy (1,072).
The top QB in our area this season was Waynesboro’s Rayshawn Frazier-Hewitt, who totaled 1,370 passing yards and led locals with 18 total TDs.
Our fall sports leaderboard is based on stats for the seven teams in the Local.News1 coverage area — Waynesboro, Greencastle-Antrim, Chambersburg, Fairfield, North Hagerstown, South Hagerstown, and Smithsburg — that have been reported to maxpreps.com, athletic.net, penntrackxc.com, and directly to LN1.
Winter sports kick off play in just a few weeks, so stay tuned to Local.News1 to track our area’s stat leaders throughout the season:
