HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced the opening of six new federally-financed electric vehicle charging stations, bringing the state’s total to 17, the most in the nation. The stations cost $9 million in all.
PennDOT officials said those stations so far have delivered more than 17,400 charging sessions, powering more than 2 million estimated miles and reducing CO2 emissions by 950,000 pounds.
PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll noted, “The rollout of EV charging stations in the commonwealth is moving along at speed, and we’re excited to make clean transportation more accessible for Pennsylvania travelers.”
A list of the available charging stations can be found on the PennDOT website.
