SMITHSBURG, Md. – The 51st annual Smithsburg Steam Engine and Craft Show drew attendees to the Smithsburg Carnival Grounds over the weekend, showcasing antique steam engines despite inclement weather.
The event ran from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Sept. 27 and 28 at 22 N. Main St., offering free admission with parking available by donation.
Organizers displayed antique steam engines with demonstrations, alongside craft vendors, food vendors and concessions as part of the yearly community fundraiser benefiting the Smithsburg High School athletics program.
A parade kicked off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, but a planned spark show – featuring steam engines lighting up fire – was canceled due to rain.
