Buttonwood Nature Center in Waynesboro is hosting an educational and fun afternoon with a live owl as part of its Naturalist Discovery Series. The event features Strix, the Owl Ambassador from Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve, and his handler, Anne Gageby. Attendees will have the opportunity to see Strix up close and learn about the life of an owl. Children will enjoy an owl-themed craft to take home and receive a free copy of the book “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen, while supplies last. Women In Need is hosting a bingo event at the St. Thomas Township Fire & Rescue, 34 School House Road, St. Thomas, on Sunday, March 30.
