5 things to do this weekend

Artist Barbara Randall leads the Artsy Chaos Club at the Council for the Arts in Chambersburg on Saturday, March 15. The sessions, which run from 10 a.m. to noon, are designed for elementary to teenage students and focus on creative, chaotic projects. Randall’s unique repurposing projects have gained popularity, and participants are encouraged to wear art-friendly attire. The classes, sponsored by a Foundation for Enhancing Communities grant, are free but require pre-registration. Artsy Chaos Club will be held at 103 N. Main St., Chambersburg.

The St. Patrick’s Day Run Fest will kick off at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, in downtown Hagerstown. This vibrant event, centered at Hub City Brewery on 25 W. Church St., offers a range of activities for all ages, including the Clover Kids Race, a One Mile Run/Walk, a 5K Run and an 8K Run. Participants can secure their spots and check start times by visiting the event’s registration website. Encouraged by the festive atmosphere, attendees are invited to don their best St. Patrick’s Day costumes and attire. Following the run, the celebration continues with an after-party hosted by the Downtown Hagerstown Main Street program at Hub City Brewery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For those looking to extend the fun, Baile, Cask & Kettle at 53 W. Washington St. is a great spot to keep the party going.

Green Grove Gardens in Greencastle will host “A Night at the Races,” a community event celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 15, at 6 p.m. The festivities will begin with post time at 7:15 p.m., featuring pre-recorded horse races. Each ticket holder will receive “play money” to bet on the races, with opportunities to win great prizes. The event will also include a silent auction and a Derby-themed activity. Attendees are encouraged to wear St. Patrick’s Day attire, with prizes awarded for the best hat. Tickets can be purchased at the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, 118 Walnut St., or by calling 717-762-7123.

The Washington County Free Library will host a Women’s Community Support Fair on Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. in honor of Women’s History Month. This free event will feature various organizations dedicated to empowering women, providing attendees with valuable resources for themselves and their communities. The fair will be held at the library’s main branch at 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. More information can be found on the library website.

Strength Endures Fitness, LLC, 150 Franklin Farm Lane in Chambersburg, will host a grand reopening celebration for its newly remodeled 24/7 gym. The event, set to take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, promises an exciting experience with door prizes from local businesses, SEfit giveaways and goodie bags for the first 50 attendees. Guests can enjoy healthy food and drinks while exploring the revamped facility. Special promotions will be available, including discounts on personal training packages and Styku services.
