With a glass of wine in hand and laughter in the air, Mainstreet Waynesboro is hosting its highly anticipated Gals Night Out on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 25 East Main Street (Main Street Park). Organized by Mainstreet Waynesboro the $25 ticket includes wine tasting with 1912 Hoover House and Renegade Wines, a craft session to make an air plant and cork magnet, and admission to a comedy show featuring Ashley Pontius and special guest Deborah Nylec, beginning at 8:15 p.m. The event promises a fun-filled evening with a bouquet bar, charcuterie cup building, permanent jewelry, photo ops and live music, aiming to celebrate community and creativity among attendees.

In a town where secrets whisper louder than the Georgia breeze, the Potomac Playmakers will stage Pamela Parker’s “Second Samuel” at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, at the Potomac Playmakers Performing Arts Center in Hagerstown. This poignant drama, kicking off the 2025-2026 season, weaves humor and music into a tale of a 1940s Southern community grappling with divisive issues. Led by Bernard Flat, an autistic young man nicknamed “B Flat,” the play invites audiences to explore a simpler yet complex era. Tickets cost $20, with a $15 rate for those 65 and older, available at potomacplaymakers.org.

Rev up your engines for a heartfelt tribute at the Salute to Veterans Car Show, where classic cars and community spirit collide. On Sunday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Historic Letterkenny Chapel located at 2171 Carbaugh Ave in Chambersburg. Organized by the Chambersburg Classic Car Group, the show features 22 vehicle classes, music, K-9 demonstrations, food trucks, free kids’ activities like face painting and a bounce house, and tours of Monarch Manufacturing’s race car shop. A special 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will take place inside the chapel at 1 p.m. All proceeds support the preservation of the chapel and memorial park, ensuring these historic sites continue to inspire.

In Boonsboro, history doesn’t just whisper – it struts its stuff at the 54th annual Boonesborough Days Festival. Hosted by the Boonsboro Historical Society, the event transforms Shafer Park into a vibrant showcase of Early American handmade crafts, paintings and unique gifts on Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 160 exhibitors, Civil War displays, Tri State Astronomers and mouthwatering food vendors await visitors, with free admission and dog-friendly vibes (leashes required). Parking is available on side streets and nearby lots, some manned by Boy Scouts for a fee. Proceeds support local historical preservation, so shoppers can splurge on crafts and funnel cakes guilt-free while exploring Boonsboro’s nearby museums and Main Street shops.
