HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Residents are reminded that the Town Yard Debris Site on Monroe Road in Boonsboro, Maryland, will be open Saturday, March 21, from 8 a.m. to noon. A 2026 Debris Site Permit is required to enter, and permits can be obtained at Town Hall during regular business hours.
The Yard Debris Site is scheduled to remain open on the third Saturday of each month through the end of 2026. The facility will be closed Sunday through Friday.
Curbside yard waste collection, known as Brown Bag Pick-up, will begin Monday, April 6. Property owners may place up to eight brown paper lawn bags curbside Sunday evening for Monday pickup. Bags left out early or exposed to rain will not be collected.
Each bag must weigh no more than 30 pounds and contain only acceptable yard waste. Prohibited materials include dirt, mulch, stones, sod, pet waste, plant pots, cans, plywood, bottles, paper and other trash.
Branches must not exceed four inches in thickness or four feet in length. No more than 10 bundled branches will be collected from each household.
Town officials urge residents to follow these guidelines to keep yard waste services efficient and safe for both workers and the community.
