BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT–The Friends of Monterey Pass have concluded the second annual “Four Seasons Photo Contest.”
While Monterey Pass Battlefield Park has consistently attracted Civil War and history buffs, the photo contest was started to attract a wider array of visitors, and highlight the beauty of the park and Monterey Peak. 15 amateur photographers submitted 35 different photographs taken between September 2021 and July 2022. The winners, as chosen by the Friends of Monterey Pass, are as follows:
The Friends of Monterey Pass hope to continue to grow the contest in its third year. Participants are allowed to submit up to four photos, highlighting different seasons and events at the park. Interested parties can expect details on the third annual photo contest to be available in early September, and published on Local.News and on Monterey Pass’ website, https://montereypassbattlefield.org/.
