Wilson College mascot to join others at Pennsylvania Capitol Sept. 29

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Wilson College’s mascot, Blaze, will be among those appearing at Mascot Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg on Tuesday, Sept. 29. This lighthearted celebration is open to all the sports mascots from Pennsylvania’s 80+ independent nonprofit colleges and universities.

Those attending can expect to see these mascots in full costume as hawks, tigers and wasps as they cheer, dance, play and swagger at the Capitol steps while they meet with legislators and neighbors. The goal of this fun event is to highlight the serious role that local colleges play in their communities. Some of the mascots will even be traveling 500 miles roundtrip to participate, with mascots representing every region of Pennsylvania.

They will appear inside the Capitol at the steps of the Main Rotunda from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
