WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The Waynesboro YMCA will welcome athletes, volunteers and spectators for its 11th annual triathlon on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 7:45 a.m. to noon.
The event has become a community tradition, bringing together participants of all ages and ability levels to challenge themselves while promoting healthy living and active lifestyles. The race consists of swimming, cycling and running segments and attracts competitors from throughout the region.
As the YMCA prepares to host the event, community members are encouraged to be aware of several temporary traffic and facility impacts.
The cycling portion of the race will use East 2nd Street, Mickley Avenue, Eastland Road, Mountain View Road, Northeast Avenue, Country Club Road, Fish and Game Road, Mentzer Gap Road, Brookedale Road, Old Forge Road and Myrtle Avenue. Runners will travel along East 2nd Street, East 3rd Street, Clayton Avenue and 9th Street.
While most roads will remain open to traffic, the YMCA parking lot, Summitview Elementary parking lot and East 2nd Street will be closed from the YMCA traffic light to the intersection of East 2nd Street and Myrtle Avenue throughout the event. Volunteer flaggers will be stationed along the course and may temporarily stop traffic at key intersections to allow athletes to proceed safely.
Motorists are encouraged to remain alert, exercise caution and allow additional travel time during race hours.
The YMCA will remain open during the event with limited facility access.
