CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg was closed in both directions Tuesday morning after a water main break, police said.
The closure affects the stretch between Coldbrook Avenue, near WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, and Stouffer Avenue near Interstate 81. Chambersburg Police Department officers responded to the break in the 1000 block of Lincoln Way East early Tuesday.
Drivers are urged to use alternate routes while the roadway remains closed.
Tractor-trailer and truck traffic is being directed to use Wayne Avenue as an alternate route to Interstate 81, police said.
It was not immediately clear when repairs would be completed or when Lincoln Way East would reopen. No injuries were reported.
