WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging is seeking community members willing to donate their time to assist with its Home Delivered Meals program, operated through the Waynesboro Senior Activity Center.
The program is designed to serve homebound seniors who may otherwise struggle to access regular, nutritious meals. Volunteers play a key role by delivering freshly prepared meals directly to participants, helping ensure recipients receive at least one hot meal each day.
Organizers say the effort not only addresses food access but also provides an important point of contact for seniors who may experience isolation. Regular deliveries can offer reassurance and a sense of connection for those living alone.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to commit to a delivery schedule every other week. Routes are coordinated through the senior center, and volunteers typically complete deliveries during daytime hours.
Those interested in volunteering can contact the Waynesboro Senior Activity Center at 717-762-2758 for more information. An online application is also available through the agency’s volunteer portal.
Program coordinators encourage residents to consider getting involved, noting that even a small time commitment can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local seniors.
