WAYNESBORO – Residents of Washington Township will have the opportunity to weigh in on two proposed development projects at an upcoming public hearing. The township supervisors have scheduled a hearing for 5:30 p.m. on June 17, to consider conditional use applications for the construction of semi-detached residential duplexes as well as a five-acre solar farm installation. The meeting, which will include time for public comments, comes as the rural municipality just outside Waynesboro evaluates the potential impacts of the projects on land use, infrastructure, and community character.
The Washington Township Supervisors on Monday, June 17, 2024, at
approximately 5:30 p.m., will hold a public hearing at the Washington
Township Municipal Building, 11798 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro,
Pennsylvania, to consider the following hearing:
CU24-002: Application by Ronnie Martin for a Conditional Use to
construct single-family semidetached dwellings (duplexes). The
applicant is requesting the approval of this Conditional Use in
accordance with Section 360-66(F) of the Code of Washington Township.
This property is located in the Low Density Residential (R-1) Zoning
District at 10562 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
CU24-004: Application by BAI Group, LLC for a Conditional Use to
install a five (5) acre solar farm on the property. The applicant is
requesting the approval of this Conditional Use in accordance with
Section 360-62(S) of the Code of Washington Township. This property is
located in the Agricultural (A) Zoning District at 14714 Wayne
Highway, Waynesboro, PA 17268 (Q-17-004).
