Totem Pole Playhouse announces 2027 season

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Totem Pole Playhouse has announced its complete 2027 season, offering audiences a year of Broadway musicals, beloved plays, live concerts, theatre education, and holiday traditions. From spring through the holidays, the 77th season promises something for every generation, continuing the Playhouse’s mission of bringing professional theatre and live entertainment to the heart of Caledonia State Park.

The 2027 Broadway Series features a dynamic mix of comedy, drama, suspense, and musical theatre.

The season opens May 28 through June 12 with Steel Magnolias, the beloved Southern classic celebrating friendship, resilience, and the extraordinary bond between six unforgettable women. Filled with humor and heartfelt emotion, the timeless play has become one of America’s most cherished stories.

From June 18 through July 3, audiences can snap along with The Addams Family, the hit Broadway musical based on everyone’s favorite delightfully eccentric family. Packed with infectious songs, outrageous comedy, and spooky fun, this family-friendly musical promises laughs for audiences of all ages.

A new chapter begins at Totem Pole Playhouse with Misery, running July 9 through July 24. Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel and the acclaimed Rob Reiner film starring James Caan and Kathy Bates, this gripping psychological thriller launches what the Playhouse hopes will become a new tradition of suspenseful theatrical experiences. Filled with shocking twists and edge-of-your-seat drama, Misery offers audiences an unforgettable night at the theatre.

Broadway favorite The Music Man marches onto the Totem Pole stage July 30 through August 15. Featuring timeless songs, lovable characters, and one of musical theatre’s most enduring stories, this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic continues to delight audiences generation after generation.

Closing the summer season is Elvis: Aloha from Vegas, running August 18 through August 29. This high-energy tribute celebrates the legendary King of Rock and Roll with iconic hits, dazzling costumes, and the excitement of Elvis Presley’s unforgettable Las Vegas performances.

The popular Music in the Pines concert series also returns with five outstanding performances celebrating some of music’s greatest artists and genres. The series includes Runaway Voice: A Tribute to Linda Ronstadt (April 10–11), Salute to the Rat Pack and Friends (April 14), Dancing Queen: The Songs of ABBA (April 17–18), a Bluegrass Concert (October 2-3), and The Motown Club Tribute Concert (November 5–6).

The fan-favorite Tucked Away Treasures series will once again return in 2027, with the full lineup of specialty performances and guest artists to be announced later this fall.

Totem Pole’s commitment to arts education continues with its popular summer camps. Young performers will take the stage in Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical Jr. and Something Rotten! Jr., alongside the Playhouse’s beloved Creative Dramatics Camp, giving students the opportunity to learn from theatre professionals while developing confidence, creativity, and performance skills.

The holiday season returns with cherished traditions. A Christmas Carol will once again return to the stage December 4–13, 2026, bringing Charles Dickens’ timeless story to life for another year. Meanwhile, Holiday shows at the Majestic Theatre return to downtown Gettysburg, followed by A Gettysburg Christmas: Live Onstage, running December 2–12, 2027, inspired by the beloved holiday film and celebrating the warmth of a small-town Christmas.

“Each year, we strive to create a season that offers something for everyone,” said Totem Pole Playhouse leadership. “Whether audiences are looking for Broadway classics, thrilling new experiences, incredible live music, educational opportunities for young performers, or beloved holiday traditions, our 2027 season celebrates the power of live entertainment to bring people together.”

Located in scenic Caledonia State Park, Totem Pole Playhouse continues to attract nationally recognized performers, directors, designers, and musicians while serving audiences from across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the surrounding region. The Playhouse has earned a reputation for presenting Broadway-caliber productions in an intimate setting that makes world-class theatre more accessible than ever.
