FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Totem Pole Playhouse has selected the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of “Oscar & Felix: A New Look at The Odd Couple,” running July 10 through July 25 and sponsored by The Drager Family.
Neil Simon’s beloved comedy gets a fresh new look in this spirited production that follows the hilarious adventures of two unlikely roommates. When carefree sportswriter Oscar Madison opens his home to his newly single and obsessively tidy friend Felix Unger, their wildly different personalities collide in spectacular fashion. Packed with sharp wit, unforgettable characters and laugh-out-loud moments, the show remains one of the most celebrated comedies ever written.
Leading the cast are two familiar faces to Totem Pole audiences. Ray Ficca (over 25 productions at Totem Pole Playhouse, most recently “A Christmas Carol”) stars as the easygoing Oscar Madison, while Darren Server (over 25 productions at Totem Pole Playhouse, including: “The Drowsy Chaperone”) takes on the role of the meticulous Felix Unger.
Joining them are Catherine Blaine (25+ productions at Totem Pole Playhouse) as Vinnie, Sam Little (Totem Pole Playhouse: “Beautiful, Annie”) as Speed, JJ Kaczinski (Totem Pole Playhouse: “Barnum”) as Murray, Ricardo Frederick Evans (Totem Pole Playhouse and Arena Stage) as Roy, Alexandra Frost (Off-Broadway: “Sugar”) as Ynez Costazuela, and Valerie Torres-Rosario (Broadway: “Camelot”) as Julia Costazuela.
The company also includes Sofia Pellegrino (DC Metro actress) covering the roles of Ynez and Julia, and Michael Krikorian (Totem Pole Playhouse: “A Christmas Carol”) covering the poker players.
The production is directed by John Putch, known for his work on “One Day at a Time” and the “Route 30” film trilogy. Putch also shares a special connection to Totem Pole Playhouse as the son of founders Bill Putch and Jean Stapleton.
The creative team includes Jim Fouchard (National Tour: “The Music Man;” hundreds of Totem Pole Playhouse productions) as Set Designer, Ryan B. Gibbs (National Tour: “Will Rogers Follies”) as Lighting Designer, Kate Wecker (National Tour: “Menopause the Musical”) as Sound Designer, Rachel Landon (Theatre Harrisburg) as Props Designer, Paul Mills Holmes (hundreds of Totem Pole Playhouse productions) as Production Stage Manager, Keefer E. Stiles (Gettysburg College) as Stage Management Assistant, Sam Sims (Fulton Theatre) as Video and Associate Lighting Designer, and Lisa Street Libetrau (Totem Pole Playhouse: “Barnum,” “The Marvelous Wonderettes”) as Costume Designer.
