HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Downtown Hagerstown roared on Friday night, May 15th, with Thunder in the Square! This annual car show filled the city square and spilled down all four surrounding blocks. Hosted by the Alsatia Club, the club provided food and live music by local groups, such as The Cruisers. With so much to do and see, this gathering attracted much more than car lovers alone.

The event featured all kinds of vehicles, from tractors to performance cars, and everything in between. With car entry at just $10, it made for a variety of cars on display. Many owners left doors and hoods wide open, and others had customs signs with information about their vehicles, all for car connoisseur’s viewing pleasure.

A rain check did not stop hundreds of Hagerstown residents from filling Washington and Potomac streets this warm evening. The event was originally set for the evening of May 1st ahead of Hagerfest,; however the event was postponed to May 15th due to rain. Keeping the event as a prelude to highly anticipated events, Thunder in the Square took place the night before Hagerstown’s Porchfest on May 16th.
