The Institute’s StoryWalk Sunday on Nov. 12

Jonah (right) and Dylan Leighty enjoy a book on the StoryWalk trail last November. The Institute’s next story trail event is on Nov. 12 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.

WAYNESBORO—Area families are invited to attend The Institute’s StoryWalk® Sundays adventure for kids on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.

Kids join a guided walk and activities along the story trail as they read a story book, then make a special craft project to take home.

The featured book is Hibernation Station by Michelle Meadows, with illustrations by Kurt Cyrus.

“With winter coming, this delightful book teaches children about the many animals that hibernate in that season,” said Pam Rowland, The Institute’s director of education. “Kids enjoy the rhyming text and beautiful illustrations, too.”

The story shows many animals on a train, preparing to snuggle into sleep for the winter season—but with chipmunks, bears, snakes, hedgehogs, groundhogs, frogs, turtles, mice, bats, and more, there’s a lot of noise! Will the hibernating critters ever get to sleep?

The event is free, but pre-registration is required by Nov. 9. Register online at: www.NatureAndCultureInstitute.org

For more information, email [email protected] or call 717-762-0373. Limited to 20 children.

All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.
