The Institute’s StoryWalk Sunday on August 13

WAYNESBORO—Area families are invited to attend The Institute’s monthly StoryWalk® Sundays adventure for kids on Sunday, August 13 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.

Kids join a guided walk and activities along the story trail as they read a story book, then make a special craft project to take home.

The featured storybook this month is “Fireflies, Fireflies, Light my Way” by Jonathan London, with illustrations by Linda Messier. This book was held over from July, when the event was postponed.

“Inspired by a Native American lullaby, the Fireflies book has rhyming text that kids love, and features fireflies, beavers, turtles, and other animals, showing the interconnectedness of the natural world,” said Pam Rowland, The Institute’s director of education.

The event is free, but pre-registration is required by August 11. Register online at: www.NatureAndCultureInstitute.org

For more information, email [email protected] or call 717-762-0373. Limited to 20 children.

All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.

Pine Hill’s StoryWalk® trail, an Institute project, was funded in part by WellSpan Summit Endowment, Marge Kiersz and Rouzerville Business Association, with in-kind support from Washington Township, Hopewell Manufacturing, Waynesboro Area School District “Be the Village,” and Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library.
