Students invited to enter Constitution Day art competitions

CHAMERSBURG, Pa. — The Franklin County Bar Foundation, in partnership with Pennsylvania’s 39th Judicial District, is inviting students across the region to participate in its 2026 Constitution Day art contests, offering creative opportunities and cash prizes for children in kindergarten through high school.

The contests are designed to encourage students to explore and express what the U.S. Constitution means to them through art, with age-appropriate categories ranging from coloring pages to original artwork.

For younger students, the Kindergarten through fifth-grade coloring contest allows children to submit up to four completed coloring pages for a chance to win one of four $25 prizes. Coloring sheets can be picked up at the Franklin County Bar Association office or the Franklin County Courthouse, or downloaded online. Entries must be submitted by Aug. 28.

Middle school students are invited to participate in a poster contest, creating a 22-by-28-inch poster that reflects their interpretation of the Constitution. Prizes include $100 for first place, $60 for second, and $40 for third. Digital submissions are due by Aug. 21, with winning posters required to be submitted in person by Sept. 4.

High school students may enter a two-dimensional art contest, with one winner receiving a $500 prize. Eligible works include paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media and collages. Submissions must be original and adhere to size and material guidelines. Like the middle school contest, entries must be submitted digitally by Aug. 21.

All submissions will be judged based on creativity, visual appeal and how accurately they represent the theme of the Constitution. Winning entries will be displayed at the Franklin County Courthouse throughout September.

Winners across all categories will be announced during the Constitution Day Celebration on Sept. 15. Submitted artwork will become the property of the Franklin County Bar Foundation and may be featured on affiliated websites and social media platforms.

More information, including downloadable materials, is available through the Franklin County Bar Foundation and partner websites.
