Franklin County Career and Technology Center’s Engineering Technology Level 2 students recently gained hands-on experience learning about hydraulics through a collaborative lesson led by Ms. Gricar and Mr. Anderson.
To help students better understand the topic, Engineering Tech instructor Ms. Gricar partnered with Ag Mechanics expert Mr. Anderson for a practical demonstration. The class explored hydraulic systems up close in the shop, examining how hydraulic cylinders function and how they are applied in various types of machinery.
Students also had the opportunity to operate hydraulic forks on the school’s wheel loader, gaining a firsthand understanding of hydraulic controls and performance.
The joint lesson emphasized CareerTech’s commitment to experiential learning, where instructors work together to ensure complex technical concepts are both engaging and accessible. At the center, collaboration between teachers helps students connect classroom lessons with real-world applications.
