HAGERSTOWN, MD — Sterling Financial Management’s second annual “Vote for your Favorite Nonprofit Contest” received more than 350 votes for 34 different nonprofit organizations located in Hagerstown, Frederick, Waynesboro or Chambersburg. The contest ran for one week, starting on Giving Tuesday, November 29, and ending on Tuesday, December 6. Clients of Sterling Financial Management as well as members of the community could vote for their favorite nonprofit using a link found on their website. Sterling Financial Management selected the winner based on which nonprofit had the most votes to receive a $500 donation.
This year’s winner was the Waynesboro Community Theatre Troupe (WCTT). The purpose of WCTT is to foster the talents of the community’s youth and build self-confidence and self-discipline. They provide one major production a year to the community.
“We were really pleased with the participation we had this year as we got three times the number of votes as last year!” said Dave Neterer, founder and president of Sterling Financial Management. “It’s great to see how many different nonprofit organizations received votes. We are excited to help out an organization like the Waynesboro Community Theatre Troupe.”
