Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Waynesboro Area Senior High School Stadium

WAYNBESBORO- Residents of the Waynesboro area are in for a celestial treat as they are invited to a solar eclipse viewing party on Monday, April 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School stadium. This event, organized by The Institute in partnership with the Waynesboro Area School District and NASA, promises a unique opportunity to witness a near-total eclipse safely.

Eclipse Details

Attendees will have the chance to observe 92% of the sun being eclipsed by the moon as it moves between the earth and sun. This rare astronomical event will be a spectacle for all ages to enjoy.

Event Highlights

The viewing party will offer various activities, including free safety eclipse sunglasses (available while supplies last) to ensure safe viewing of the eclipse. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfort during the event.

Expert Guidance

NASA scientist Todd Toth will be on hand to provide expert guidance and insights into the eclipse, enhancing the educational aspect of this experience.

In addition to eclipse viewing, attendees can participate in crafting activities such as creating color-changing solar bead bracelets and solar viewing masks, adding a creative and interactive element to the event.
