CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Shalom Christian Academy announced that Head of School Education Angie Petersheim will retire at the conclusion of the 2026-27 academic year, marking nearly three decades of service to the school.
Petersheim joined Shalom Christian Academy in 1999 as K–8 principal, a role she held for 10 years while helping to develop a Christ-centered academic environment. In 2009, she transitioned into the role of administrator, providing leadership across the school. She most recently stepped into the position of head of school education last year.
Over her 27-year tenure, Petersheim has played a key role in shaping the school’s academic programs and strengthening its mission-driven approach to education. School officials described her as a steady and influential presence within the Shalom community.
“Her commitment to our mission has shaped the very fabric of who we are today,” the school shared in a public announcement.
Shalom Christian Academy plans to recognize Petersheim’s contributions throughout the upcoming school year, with opportunities for students, families and staff to celebrate her career and legacy.
Petersheim will remain in her role through the end of the school year in June 2027.
