HARRISBURG– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that preliminary work related to a resurfacing project on Route 97 in Germany Township and Littlestown Borough, Adams County, is scheduled to begin next week.

This project consists of paving, base repair, guiderail replacement, drainage replacement, ADA ramps, signs, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 97 from the Maryland State Line in Germany Township to Route 194 (King Street) in Littlestown Borough.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, October 9. Work this year includes tree trimming, tree removal and possible surveying for drainage upgrades. This work will be performed under daylight flagging operations within the project limits.

The remainder of the work will be performed next year following the winter shutdown.

Motorists should be alert, watch for changing traffic patterns and drive with caution through the work zone.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, is the contractor on this $2,737,247 project. All work is scheduled to be completed by October 17, 2024.
