SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Prep work for a bridge replacement project on Route 11 (West King Street) over the Norfolk Southern. Railroad tracks in Shippensburg and Southampton Township will begin Monday, June 1, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The contractor will begin tree clearing, and erosion and sediment measures at that time with daylight lane restrictions under flagging.
Following the Independence Day holiday, a long-term lane shift on Route 11 will be in place during phased construction.
J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this $12,877,625 bridge replacement project. All work is expected to be completed by Nov. 14, 2028.
