WAYNESBORO—The Rotary Club of Waynesboro recently hosted a Past Presidents’ dinner at the Waynesboro Country Club.
Fifteen of 23 past presidents still in the club met for a meal and to discuss the club’s progress at the middle of the current president’s term.
The 101-year-old club is part of the world’s oldest service organization. Rotary sponsors many community activities throughout the year, including three scholarships; a Financial Literacy program for high school seniors; tree planting; Toys for Children and more.
“We are always looking for ways to serve the community, whether through better engagement at the high school, bringing in new ideas and members, or finding new ways to enhance life in the Waynesboro area,” said Tod Kline, this year’s club president.
“It’s a major advantage in a club as large and enduring as ours to have so many who’ve led the club all in one place, and to have agreement about moving forward,” said Rick Boyer, club president 1978-1979. “These biennial meetings help the club tackle changing community issues while remaining true to its mission.”
