WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Residents are invited to attend a free workshop aimed at helping them recognize and avoid scams as fraud tactics continue to evolve.
State Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin) is partnering with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General to host the event at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at the MMP&W Volunteer Fire Co. Activities Center, 20 Veterans Way.
The workshop will focus on the latest scam trends, including the increasing use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to target victims. A representative from the attorney general’s office will lead the presentation and provide insight into how scammers build trust and create a sense of urgency to exploit individuals.
Reichard encouraged residents to attend, emphasizing that awareness remains one of the most effective tools in preventing fraud.
Attendees will learn how to identify common warning signs, protect personal and financial information and respond if they believe they have been targeted by a scam. The session will also highlight real-world examples of recent scams and explain how technology is being used to make fraudulent schemes more convincing.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, residents may contact Reichard’s office at 717-749-7384.
