Raised Pavement Marking Project to Begin Next Week in South Central PA

HARRISBURG- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a project to install or replace raised pavement markings (RPMs) on various routes and ramps in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and Lebanon counties is scheduled to begin next week. RPMs are reflective devices that are installed along roadway edge lines and center lines to increase visibility of travels lanes.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, March 25. The contractor will start on Route 30 in Franklin County.

This will be a mobile operation. Motorists may encounter lane closures while this work is performed. There are restrictions as to when these closures can occur. Work on highways with four or more lanes, including interstates, expressways and other high-volume roads, will be performed at night only. On four-digit state routes, no work can be performed from 6:30-8:30 AM, and on numbered traffic routes and three-lane roads, no work can be performed from 6:30-8:30 AM and from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Green Acres Contracting Co., Inc., of Scottsdale, PA, is the contractor on this $427,298 project. All work is expected to be completed by August 30, 2024.
