WAYNESBORO, Pa — Hundreds of students gathered on the lawn of Renfrew Park on May 16 for photos before the Waynesboro Area Senior High School junior-senior prom at Penn State Mont Alto.
Approximately 460 students attended this year’s prom, themed “Starlight Disco Prom.” The venue featured disco balls, blue shine streamers, and star- and moon-shaped balloons suspended from the ceiling to create a glowing, celestial atmosphere.
Students also received star-shaped glasses and light-up sticks as they danced to music provided by Coast 2 Coast DJ Mike Embly. Refreshments included Krumpe’s Donuts, dirty sodas, and Penn State Creamery ice cream.
Bethany Price was crowned prom queen, while Carter Long was named prom king.
Prom advisers Emily Dickey and Moriah Hoffman helped organize the event for WASHS juniors and seniors.
“The night was magical for everyone,” Dickey said. “It was a special event that allowed students to celebrate the year and their futures with a final time together.”
