The Blue Ridge Summit Free Library celebrated its 50th annual Ice Cream Social and Book Sale on Saturday, July 18, drawing families and visitors for a day of community activities. The event featured thousands of books for sale spanning genres such as crafts, romance, science, history, children’s literature and more, along with a bake sale, silent auction and white elephant table. Attendees enjoyed live music from the Wayne Band and Rich Fehle, children’s activities, face painting and games hosted by the Fort Ritchie Community Center. Ice cream, food vendors and flower sales added to the festivities, while the Blue Ridge Summit Fire Company and Fountaindale Volunteer Fire Department offered popular fire truck rides.
