BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT—Pen Mar hosted the Frederick County Babe Ruth 18u Wooden Bat playoffs Sat 6-25th at Pine Hill Recreation Park.
The Summiteers have won back-to-back in The FCBR league, winning the Fall Championship and now the Spring Championship.
Pen Mar Summiteers got out to a four run lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over ITD Wigfield on Saturday.
ITD managed two runs in the failed comeback. Bamford and Mount picked up RBIs to lead the rally.
Pen Mar Summiteers got things started in the first inning when Tanner Keckler doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Landon Jordan got the start on the hill for Pen Mar. The right lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three.
Nate Basford was on the hill for ITD. Basford lasted four innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out seven. Fravel threw three innings in relief.
Dylan Jordan led Pen Mar with three hits in four at bats. Tanner Keckler had 3RBIs in the game.
Mount went 2-4 at the plate to lead ITD in hits.
